The Jo Daviess County Courthouse will be undergoing a major remodeling and addition project beginning in the Spring of 2024.  As part of the remodeling project, County Government Offices and Courts have relocated from the Courthouse. 

The County Clerk & Recorder’s Office, County Treasurer’s Office, Chief County Assessment Office, GIS Office, and County Administrator’s Office have moved to the former Galena Primary School Building, 219 Kelly Lane, Galena, IL 61036.

The Courts, Probation, State’s Attorney, Public Defender and Clerk of the Circuit Court have moved to the former Galena Fitness Building, 9816 US Route 20 West, Galena, IL 61036.

The County’s mailing address will remain the same: 330 N. Bench Street, Galena, IL 61036.

All offices are now fully operational at their temporary locations.
